About MHC
Formed in 2005, Montana Hemp Council (MHC) is a 501(C)(3) organization working to inform Montanans about the benefits, history, uses and politics of industrial and agricultural hemp. We advocate policy to end the prohibition of industrial hemp cultivation in the US.

MHC is working with the Montana State Agriculture Director to expedite the creation of administrative rules for the production of industrial hemp in Montana, and to advocate with the US Congress to amend the Controlled Substances Act to exclude industrial hemp from the deinition of marijuana so DEA barriers are removed from farming hemp in the US.

MHC is facilitating dialogue among various key stakeholders including: the Montana Agriculture Director, Montana farmers, North Dakota farmers, Canadian Minister of Trade, Colorado Hemp Initiative, South Dakota Industrial Hemp Council and the Lakota Hemp Project.
